NICS Evidence into Action Prize

The National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC) is Australia’s peak body for supporting health and medical research. As part of the NHMRC, the National Institute of Clinical Studies (NICS) works to improve health care by getting health and medical research into practice.

The National Institute of Clinical Studies (NICS) will award a $1000 prize for the paper or poster that best demonstrates improving health care by closing an identified gap between the available evidence and clinical practice, within Australian health care settings.  The prize winner will be announced at the Congress.

NICS will also profile the winning entry and authors/presenters on the NICS website (www.nhmrc.gov.au/nics).

Professor Andrea Rapkin will present a summary of the more recent Randomised Controlled Trials of the major pharmacologic agents used to treat PMS/PMDD. Benefits, risks, and side effects of the various approaches will be discussed and a practical treatment algorithm presented.
